Track Diet ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Account Information: Email address (for authentication), Name (optional, from Google OAuth), Google ID (if using Google sign-in)

Food Log Data: Natural language descriptions of meals, timestamps, nutritional estimates generated by our AI, edit and deletion history

Subscription Information: Subscription tier (free or premium), trial status and dates, payment information (processed by Apple/Google, not stored by us)

Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: App interactions and feature usage, session duration and frequency, device type and operating system, app version, IP address, timezone

Technical Data: Crash reports and error logs, performance metrics, API request logs

Advertising Data (with your consent): App events and conversions, device identifiers for ad tracking (only after you grant permission via App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS)

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide the Service, process food log entries through AI, calculate nutritional estimates, display daily totals and history, sync data across your devices, and provide customer support.

We also use your information to improve the Service by analyzing usage patterns (anonymized), improving AI accuracy, fixing bugs and technical issues, developing new features, and optimizing performance.

Advertising and Marketing (with your consent): We may use tracking data to measure ad campaign performance, optimize ad targeting, build custom audiences, and track conversions from ads. This requires your explicit consent via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on iOS.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Service, including:

  • OpenAI (for AI processing of food descriptions)
  • Cloud infrastructure providers (AWS/DigitalOcean)
  • Email services (for authentication)
  • Analytics services (Google Analytics - for usage analytics)
  • Error tracking services (Sentry - for crash reporting)
  • Payment processors (Apple/Google - for subscriptions)
  • Advertising networks (Meta/Facebook - for ad measurement, only with your consent)

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of all data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AES-256), secure authentication tokens, limited employee access to personal data, multi-factor authentication for admin access, and regular security audits.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS 14.5 and later, we request your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes. You will see a prompt asking for permission to track.

What we track with your permission: Ad conversions and campaign performance, custom audience building for ad targeting, app events for marketing optimization.

What we don't track: Your food log content is never shared with advertisers. We don't sell your personal information. Tracking is only for our own advertising purposes.

How to opt-out: You can deny permission in the ATT prompt, or change your choice later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > Track Diet.

Your Rights and Choices

Access Your Data: You can access your data at any time through the app. To request a complete data export, email support@trackdiet.com.

Correct Your Data: You can edit or delete food log entries directly in the app. To update your email or other account information, contact support@trackdiet.com.

Delete Your Data: To delete your account and all associated data, email support@trackdiet.com with your deletion request. We will delete your account within 30 days.

Opt Out of Ad Tracking (iOS): Deny permission in the ATT prompt, or disable in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Children's Privacy

Track Diet is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
